Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality, person‑centred care in line with individual care plans.
* Assist residents with daily living activities including personal care, mobility, dressing, bathing, and nutrition.
* Safely administer and accurately record medications in accordance with policies and best practice (essential).
* Act as the senior member of staff on night shifts, providing leadership and support to the care team.
* Mentor and support junior staff, promoting best practice and a professional working environment.
* Complete care documentation clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
* Maintain a safe, calm, and respectful environment for residents and staff.
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding, infection control, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
* Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, or changes in residents’ conditions.
* Promote dignity, respect, choice, and independence at all times.
Essential Criteria
* Medication experience is mandatory; proven experience administering medication within a care setting.
* Experience working in elderly or residential care.
* Ability to work night shifts on a rota basis.
* Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
* Excellent understanding of safeguarding and infection control.
* Compassionate and empathetic approach to care.
* Strong communication skills with residents, families, and colleagues.
* Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative.
* High standards of professionalism and attention to detail.
Desirable Criteria
* Level 3 NVQ in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
* Level 2 NVQ with willingness to work towards Level 3.
* Additional training such as Medication Management, Manual Handling, or First Aid.
* Previous experience supervising or leading a care team.
