Job Title: Lead Software Engineer – C#/.NET (Manager Level)
Location: Leeds (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office)
Clearance Requirement: Must be eligible for UK National Security Vetting
About the Role
We are building a new digital capability focused on high-quality software delivery, and we're doing things differently. This is an opportunity to join a growing engineering team that focuses on solving complex, real-world problems using modern technologies.
This role is deeply technical and delivery-focused. You will not be client-facing. Instead, you will be part of a team working on secure, scalable software solutions in the background for high-impact clients across government and regulated sectors.
This is not a consulting role. It's a hands-on engineering position for someone who wants to build, lead, and innovate with technology.
What You’ll Do
* Deliver secure, high-quality software using C# and .NET in a collaborative agile environment
* Act as a subject matter expert for back-end development, with some exposure to front-end technologies preferred (JavaScript/TypeScript)
* Lead technical design and take ownership of system architecture and engineering decisions
* Work closely with product managers to translate business needs into actionable stories and deliverables
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers and contractors
* Promote modern DevOps and CI/CD practices across the team
* Work with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native deployment approaches
What You’ll Need
* Expertise in C# and .NET with a strong grasp of software architecture and design principles
* Full-stack experience preferred, especially with JavaScript or TypeScript
* Demonstrable experience leading technical teams delivering scalable distributed systems
* Proficiency with RESTful APIs, microservices, and secure coding best practices
* Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
* Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI
* Solid understanding of databases, system monitoring tools, and test automation frameworks
Desirable Experience
* Delivery of secure software in government, defence, or other regulated sectors
* Hands-on cloud-native development and deployment
* Knowledge of logging and monitoring tools such as DataDog, Prometheus, or StackDriver
* Experience working with product lifecycle tooling and engineering in complex domains
If you’re looking to focus on real engineering work that drives meaningful outcomes and want to be part of a team that values delivery, learning, and innovation, we encourage you to apply.
