Responsibilities
* Provide a highly ambitious curriculum which inspires students to achieve their very best and supports them to aim high and reach the extraordinary.
* Ensure a high-quality English provision with excellent teaching, learning and assessment.
* Support students to achieve excellent outcomes in English and progress onto their next steps.
* Develop course planning, including schemes of work, lesson plans and teaching resources.
* Build strong relationships with learners.
* Contribute to improving student retention, attendance and success rates.
* Play a key role in shaping the curriculum to best meet students’ needs.
The successful candidate will be primarily based at Accrington and Rossendale campus but may be required to travel across sites. This post could suit an experienced practitioner looking for their next challenge, a newly qualified teacher looking to make their mark within an Outstanding organisation.
Qualifications
* Experience of teaching English within a Further Education, Sixth Form, Apprenticeship or Secondary setting.
* Teaching qualification.
* Degree in English or an associated subject or an alternative degree with A Level English.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Passion for the subject and ability to inspire and motivate.
* Highly organised and conscientious approach.
