Days & Hours: Bank Hours, flexible days and nights available - ad hoc and variable to meet the needs of Alex and his family, including cover for team absences.
Pay:
* £15.44 per hour, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 8:00pm (Days)
* £16.54 per hour, Weekends and Bank Holidays, 8:00am to 8:00pm (Days) and 8:00pm to 8:00am (Waking Nights)
* £17.64 per hour, Weekends and Bank Holidays, 8:00pm to 8:00am (Waking Nights)
* £NLW (Currently £12.21 for age 21 and over), Monday to Sunday, 8:00pm to 8:00am (Sleeping Nights)
Driver required? Yes, own car needed to get to work.
Driving client's car? Yes, Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV).
Using own vehicle for work? Yes, on duty and for training attendance.
Essential Experience: Complex medical needs, PEG feeding, Hickman Line, supporting a child through waking nights.
Desirable: Experience with children with trauma and an interest in therapy.
Pets: Guinea pigs, 1 Dog.
Accommodation (while on duty): Fully adapted family home, with separate Carer's entrance and own kitchen facilities.
Start Date: ASAP (subject to checks).
Introducing Alex: Alex is a lovely boy born in 2013 with neurological disabilities, requiring one-to-one care. He enjoys toys with sound and lights, and playing with his brothers. He communicates with sounds, unable to talk.
He lives with his parents and brothers, and the role involves providing care at home and attending activity and therapy sessions. Night shifts include monitoring and attending to Alex, keeping accurate sleep notes, and assisting with personal care, medication, and feeding.
