Job Title: Trauma Caseworker
Are you an engaging, collaborative, and highly organized individual with experience working with ‘high risk,’ vulnerable young people? Do you work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and have a flexible and empathetic approach to your work?
If so, join St Giles Trust as our Trauma Caseworker, where you will play a key role in our award-winning youth violence service at the Royal London Hospital, supporting vulnerable victims of violence aged 12-25.
About St Giles Trust
We are an ambitious, well-established charity that helps people facing adversity to find jobs, homes, and the right support they need. Central to our ethos is our belief that people with first-hand experience of overcoming issues such as offending backgrounds, homelessness, addictions, and gang involvement hold the key to positive change in others.
St Giles is now a kickstart employer, providing job opportunities for 16-24-year-olds on Universal Credit at risk of long-term unemployment.
About this role
The successful candidate will be embedded in the trauma team, working closely with clinicians and hospital staff to support young people admitted to the Major Trauma Centre, from admission to discharge and reintegration into the community. This includes providing comprehensive assessments, advice, referrals, and support services, exploring innovative ways to reduce re-victimization.
You will produce support and risk management plans, promote inter-agency collaboration, and develop relationships with partner agencies. Your duties will include delivering holistic support services, such as social and housing support, appointment accompaniment, benefits work, debt advice, liaising with utilities, court appearances, and other practical support.
