Radiology Clinical Nurse Specialist (XR06)
Wehave an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic, motivated nurse whois looking for a new challenge in Interventional Radiology in the RegionalVascular Anomalies service at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals.
Youwill be an experienced qualified nurse who will work within the vascularanomalies clinical nurse specialist team, including multidisciplinaryprofessionals, to deliver a high-quality service to both paediatric and adultpatients with vascular anomalies. Alongside the vascular anomalies service, youwill also be involved in and contribute to the patient flow service assistingwith preparing elective patients for their procedures and follow up postprocedure.
Youwill have excellent organisational skills, have an understanding of clinicalgovernance and will provide specialist nursing care and advice to a definedcaseload of patients from diagnosis of a vascular anomaly, through theirtreatment and continuing follow-up, providing support management at key pointsin their journey.
You will also development of this speciality service,with regards to new treatments and service development, whilst ensuringcost-effective use of resources

Main duties of the job
TheJobholder is responsible for the management of a defined caseload. Thejobholder carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs,the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and thesetting of standards of care.
Thejobholder will provide specialist nursing care, treatment and advice to aspecific patient group and will contribute to the development of thespeciality service. The jobholder will ensure cost effective use ofresources.
Thejob holder will support the development of interdisciplinary and wholeservice working. As a role model they will promote the sharing of goodpractice and delivery of high quality, effective and efficient care. The jobholder will provide training and education to staff groups, patients andfamilies/carers.

Job responsibilities
TheVascular Anomalies Radiology Service delivers a specialised regionaldiagnostic and treatment service for patients with vascular anomalies. As aClinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), you will be a core member of themultidisciplinary team (MDT), responsible for the expert management of adefined patient caseload across the full care pathway. The role involvescoordinating and delivering specialist nursing care from pre-procedureassessment and preparation through to post-procedure review and ongoing follow-up.You will provide expert clinical advice and support to patients with vascularanomalies, acting as a key point of contact for patients, carers, andcolleagues. A key aspect of the role is the provision of post-procedure andlong-term follow-up via telephone and video clinics, ensuring continuity ofcare and early identification of issues. You will deliver clear education andemotional support, communicating complex and sensitive information to enablepatients and carers to actively participate in care decisions. Workingclosely with consultant teams, the patient flow co-ordinator, and the widerMDT, you will contribute to service efficiency, quality improvement, andeffective resource use. You will also play an active role in the ongoingdevelopment of the specialist service. The post holder reports to the SeniorCNS for clinical supervision and service development, and to the RadiologyTheatres Senior Nurses in Charge for procedural and operational management

* Significant and recent relevant experience working as a Band 5 Staff Nurse or equivalent post registration experience within speciality.
* Experience of clinical audit and standard setting
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (RN Adult for adult clinical areas or RN Child for childrens areas (Level 1 or 2)
* Recognised teaching/assessing qualification or equivalent experience of teaching and assessment
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Willing to undergo training as necessary
* Degree Level Education or evidence of working towards
