About the Role
We're looking for a proactive and organised Chargehand to join our Transport Operations team. You'll play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day delivery of our Operational Passenger Transport and Meals on Wheels services, ensuring safety, efficiency, and excellent service for our community.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise staff including wellbeing conversations, training, performance and attendance management.
* Manage vehicle and resource allocation, ensuring compliance and readiness.
* Conduct accident investigations and maintain accurate documentation.
* Deliver and coordinate training (MIDAS, PATS, Induction).
* Maintain and update passenger lists and staff records.
* Support emergency planning and occasionally drive or escort transport runs.
* Order equipment, uniforms, and PPE.
* Carry out weekly vehicle, fire, and water safety checks.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Experience supervising staff and working both independently and in teams.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* IT literacy and familiarity with various software packages.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety and manual handling techniques.
* Full Cat D1 driving licence and Basic First Aid qualification.
Desirable:
* MIDAS and PATS trainer/assessor qualifications.
* Manual handling qualification.
