About the Role
Pipe Dream Fittings are looking for a highly organised and proactive Sales and Purchasing Executive to join our team. This role offers the perfect blend of operational and commercial responsibilities, supporting both procurement and sales functions in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. You'll play a vital part in keeping our supply chain running smoothly, maintaining stock levels, and delivering exceptional service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing
* Process purchase orders for both stock and non-stock items.
* Identify and source alternative suppliers and products when necessary.
* Work closely with the Goods-In Coordinator to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
* Organise returns and manage collections from local suppliers.
* Monitor warehouse stock levels and place bulk stock orders accordingly.
* Liaise with customers to address stock shortages, lead times, and present alternative product options.
* Process purchase invoices on our system and post to correct account
* Approve supplier invoices against purchase orders.
Sales
* Initiate and manage quote enquiries through various communication channels, including phone and email.
* Convert quote enquiries into sales orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
* Proactively follow up on quotations via email and telephone to secure sales closures.
* Handle incoming calls from fittings customers and assist with their requirements.
* Chase payment by email and telephone for overdue sales invoices.
* Process sales invoices for credit account customers that order through our website.
Customer and Supplier Relations:
* Utilise exceptional communication skills and a confident telephone manner to build and nurture customer relationships.
* Address customer enquiries, concerns, and needs promptly and professionally.
* Provide guidance on product options and specifications to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions.
* Foster strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
* Collaborate with suppliers to stay informed about product availability, changes, and innovations.
Reporting and Documentation:
* Maintain accurate records of sales orders, purchase orders, and customer interactions.
* Generate reports and summaries to provide insights into sales trends, customer preferences, and procurement efficiency.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
