Part-Time, Permanent (Term Time + School Holidays)
Are you a meticulous retail and administration professional with a flair for inventory management and exceptional customer service? We are seeking a highly organised individual to take ownership of our School Shop, ensuring every student is kitted out correctly and efficiently.
This role combines hands-on retail operations with crucial stock and data management, and requires a candidate who is highly accurate and enjoys working independently.
Salary: approximately £5,800 per annum
* Hours: 7.5 hours per week during term time, worked over 3 days (Mon & Tues 15:30–18:00, Wed 08:00–10:30).
* Holiday Work: Plus approximately 20 full days during school holidays to manage peak periods, fittings, and sales events.

The Core Role
You will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of the school shop, ensuring a professional and high-standard service for our students and parents.
Key Responsibilities
* Shop Operations: Effectively manage the daily running of the school shop, including dealing with customer emails and processing online orders during term time.
* Uniform Expertise: Conduct accurate fittings and ensure the correct uniform is issued to all students.
* Stock Control: Implement and manage stock rotation and ordering. This includes maintaining an accurate inventory and identifying ways to improve the efficient use of the shop space.
* Peak Period Management: Take the lead on organising and running events during school holidays, including private booking days, drop-in days, and three annual second-hand sales (Winter, Easter, and Summer breaks).
* Administrative Accuracy: Ensure meticulous attention to detail in all transactions, fittings, and the handling of cash/stock.
What You'll Need to Succeed (Essential Skills)
* Retail & Inventory: Proven experience in a retail setting, with strong knowledge of stock control, ordering, and management systems.
* Accuracy: An exceptional level of meticulousness and accuracy, especially in fitting and order processing.
* Customer Service: Prior experience in a professional customer-facing role, handling enquiries both in-person and via email.
* IT Skills: Proficiency with standard office applications, particularly Microsoft Word.
* Organisation: Excellent time management and planning skills, with a focus on consistently meeting published deadlines.
Desirable Skills (Helpful, but not essential):
* Experience with a Point-of-Sale (POS) system (e.g., Square).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for inventory tracking and basic data analysis.
* Previous experience working in a school or uniform retail environment.
