Are you interested in Early Childhood Development? Our Bright Start Islington Integrated Service has a Health Visitor Clinical Lead Vacancy working on Early Childhood Development. The role takes a Clinical Lead in supporting the wider Bright Start Health Visiting teams to deliver Islingtons key objectives identified and agreed in the Bright Start Strategy and the Islington Family Hub Start For Life action plans. The role will work to ensure that the policy and procedures to deliver within an integrated service are well developed and evaluated to evidence a safe, effective, and quality service. The post holder will support the lead in the implementation of Islingtons Start For Life Workforce Pilot which aims to improve the quality of the Health Reviews, implement early identification of needs and support FHAs to provide targeted interventions. The post holder will lead on the role out of supervision to the FHAs delivering with the support of health visitor colleagues. This role requires the successful Early Childhood Development clinical lead works flexibly approximately 3 days in the Workforce Pilot and 2 days case loading in the Health Visiting Team till the end of March 2025. Beyond March 2025, the successful post holder will be required to work fully with a caseload in a Health visiting team 4 days and take the role of clinical lead 1 day a week. Main duties of the job You will be responsible for the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme for a geographical area within the Bright Start locality carrying out evidence-based child and family health assessments and develop child/family health plans in partnership with families and other key partners. To demonstrate a commitment to best practice in all aspects of child development and work with Bright Start Early Years Teams and other partners to embed the best practice in Islington, and Whittington Health as a whole. To demonstrate and develop evidence-based knowledge, attitudes and skills to be able to be an expert resource for Bright Start teams, in particular in the area of Early Child Development and Parent-Infant Relationships To assess local need and to plan, coordinate and deliver training programmes and workshops to Bright Start staff, and others as appropriate, to promote best practice standards in all aspects of Early Child Development. To work with other specialist colleagues such as the Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Team, Infant Feeding team and SLC team. To provide expertise and support to Family Health Advisors and Health Visitors working with families. To take a lead role in working with the Islington Start For Life Workforce Development Pilot. To work with the Start For Life Family Hub Home Learning workstream on Wellcomm. To work to develop integrated pathways with key partners such as, midwifery, CAMHS, Early Years settings and School Health Service. Education / Qualifications Essential • Health Visiting Professional Qualification, with entry onto the 3rd part of the NMC Register • Educated to degree level or equivalent Desirable • Perinatal mental health training • Early Childhood development • Leadership modules (L6/7) • Parenting Programme facilitator course Skills & Abilities Essential • Excellent communication skills: IT written and oral • Willingness to lead and support management of change. • High levels of clinical skills, with the ability to identify, respond to and evaluate health needs, including the delivery of public health programmes. • Evidence of application of high levels of knowledge and skills relating to emotional and physical wellbeing during the antenatal period. • Evidence of application of high levels of knowledge and skills relating to the issues and concerns associated with school readiness. Knowledge & Experience Essential • Knowledge of use and limitations of ASQ tools. • Knowledge of current legislation and national guidance relating to all aspects of the Healthy Child Programme • Knowledge of the Play, Chat, Read programme. Desirable • Knowledge and skills in managing change at an operational level.
