As one of the world's largest networks of audit, tax and consulting firms, RSM delivers big ideas and premium service to help middle-market businesses thrive. We are a fast-growing firm with big ambitions -- we have a clear goal to become the premium adviser to the middle market, globally. This vision motivates us to improve every day. If you are looking for a firm where you can build a future and make an impact, then RSM is the place for you.
Our Customs specialists work closely with colleagues across the firm to provide a joined-up service to a diverse range of clients, from middle market businesses to large corporations, combining expertise in accounting, audit and all relevant taxes. As a national Customs practice and part of the VAT service line, we offer a balance between sector specialism and general advisory, with opportunities to develop new areas of focus. As a fast-growing faculty, there are significant opportunities for client development and a focus on delivering a varied advisory pipeline.
As an Assistant Manager in our national offices, you will plan and implement Customs client work, ensuring effective and cost-efficient service delivery. You will supervise junior team members, collaborate with Managers and Partners, and be responsible for preparing advice and managing client relationships to meet service, quality, and cost expectations, as well as firm targets.
You’ll make an impact by:
* Identifying and advising on Customs planning opportunities and undertaking specialist technical assignments.
* Being a point of contact for Customs queries and maintaining excellent client service.
* Working with senior colleagues to identify, interview, and convert prospective clients, and assisting in research and proposal preparation for new work.
* Developing advanced technical knowledge through reading and courses, and staying aware of the firm’s services.
* Continuously improving your skills and knowledge, coaching junior members confidently, and embracing personal development.
What we are looking for:
Are you someone who thrives on variety, loves learning, and enjoys connecting with people? If you can spot inefficiencies and are passionate about improvements, this role is perfect for you!
We value diversity and experience. Our ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience in client handling and project management.
* Proven tax experience producing high-quality work within budget.
* At least three years’ experience in Customs or a related field, and a degree qualification.
What we can offer you:
We recognize our people as our most valuable assets. Our benefits include:
* ACA study support
* Hybrid and flexible working options
* 26 days holiday (with options to purchase additional days)
* Wellbeing benefits including financial tools, electric car schemes, and virtual GP access
* Access to 300+ online courses for development

We aim to create a sense of belonging for all, embracing diverse backgrounds and perspectives to better serve our clients and foster an inclusive culture.
