Overview

Band 5 Occupational Therapist – Community Mental Health Team, East Hub (1 post) – Based at Little Bromwich Centre. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Band 5 to join our Community Mental Health Team. The successful applicant will work closely with the Band 6 OT, Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Community Mental Health Nurses and Admiral Nurses, with close links to in-patient units, CERTS (community enablement and recovery team), OPIP (Older People’s Intervention Programme), and Social Services. The CMHTs liaise with primary care (GPs) and the third sector.

The OT will undertake comprehensive OT assessments using standardised tools and models, including MOHO (Model of Human Occupation). They will apply formulation skills to set appropriate goals and work with the service user to achieve these goals through suitable interventions. A core aspect of this post is inputting into the division-wide OPIP service, offering interventions in group and one-to-one settings for service users with organic and/or mental health needs. The OT will be directly supervised by the Band 6.

The Mental Health Services for Older People division within the Trust values occupational therapy within its teams and promotes regular managerial, professional and clinical supervision. There are training opportunities within the Trust and support for continuing professional development.
