Job Purpose

The Director, Performance Intelligence is accountable for converting Clinical DevOps performance and productivity data into strategic insights, decision intelligence, and executive‑level narratives that directly influence outcomes across Development Operations and R&D. Acting as a senior thought partner to leaders, the role sets and governs performance measurement frameworks, steers benchmarking and progress evaluation, and identifies and frames targeted interventions that materially improve cycle time, predictability, and delivery effectiveness helping medicines reach patients faster.

Key Responsibilities:

Performance Strategy & Framework Ownership

1. Evolve the Development Performance & Productivity framework, translating strategic priorities into robust, decision-focused performance measures and analytic outputs.

2. Define and maintain enterprise KPI standards, data lineage, business rules, and documentation to ensure consistency, transparency, auditability, and re‑use.

3. Ensure performance measures align to DevOps principles (e.g., flow, throughput, quality, predictability, cycle time) and are suitable for benchmarking and external comparison where required.

Senior Insight, Analytics & Decision Support

4. Lead the development of high-impact insight packs, narratives, and executive-level performance summaries for Development Operations and R&D leadership.

5. Synthesise complex, multi-source data into clear points of view, highlighting drivers, trade-offs, trends, and implications for delivery and investment decisions.

6. Act as a thought partner to senior stakeholders, shaping performance questions, framing options, and influencing prioritisation and targeted interventions.

Benchmarking & Enterprise Perspective

7. Lead internal and external benchmarking activities, including data submissions, interpretation of outcomes, and translation of best practices into actionable implications for Development performance.

8. Provide an integrated, enterprise-wide view of Development delivery performance, balancing functional, portfolio, and operational perspectives.

Resource & Capacity Intelligence

9. Own advanced resource, capacity, and demand intelligence, including scenario analysis and forecasting approaches that inform trade-off and sequencing decisions.

10. Provide data-driven insights into constraints, risks, and optimisation opportunities to support cross-functional operational and portfolio planning.

11. Partner closely with Finance and Planning functions to align performance, resourcing, and financial views.

Culture & Capability

12. Promote a fact-based, insight-led decision culture across Development Operations and R&D.

13. Coach and influence peers and stakeholders on effective use of performance intelligence, analytics, and visualisation.

14. Serve as a recognised subject-matter expert in performance intelligence, analytics, and DevOps measurement approaches.

Basic Qualifications:

15. Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field.

16. Extensive experience within Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or a closely related environment, with strong exposure to clinical development, development operations, or R&D delivery.

17. Demonstrated ability to connect and analyze data, and leverage it to inform sound business decisions; strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize data (source, consolidate and mine data) and create robust visualizations of data to convey messages

18. Demonstrated expertise in performance analytics, KPI frameworks, benchmarking, and decision intelligence in a matrixed organization.

19. Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders without formal authority and operate credibly at executive level.

20. Experience partnering with Technology, Data, and Finance teams to shape analytic solutions and improve data quality and automation.

Preferred Qualifications:

21. Advanced degree (PhD, MBA, MSc, or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.

22. Broad knowledge of Pharma industry processes, particularly within R&D, clinical development, or drug discovery, and familiarity with the regulatory, scientific, and operational challenges unique to the sector.

23. Strong influencing skills with peers and departmental leaders; ability to interact with a range of functions, cultures and styles to gather and interpret data

24. Detailed and result oriented, to ensure the delivery of accurate information in a timely manner

25. Excellent communication & both verbal and written skills

The annual base salary in Poland for new hires in this position ranges from PLN 0 to PLN 0 gross, taking into account a number of factors including the candidate’s skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. Depending on the role and internal policies, the position may also be eligible for a bonus (if applicable and based on defined, non-discretionary criteria) and/or awards for exceptional performance (granted at the employer’s discretion). All statutory benefits will be maintained in accordance with Polish law. Other benefits may also be offered, which may include private healthcare, additional paid days off, life insurance, private pension plan and fully paid parental leave & care of family member leave.
