Assistant Sales Manager
Role & Purpose: The Assistant Sales Manager is a member of the Sales Team and will report to the Sales Manager. The Assistant Sales Manager role is to help achieve sales and financial targets by the effective development of the Sales Department’s plans and budgets, in accordance with the criteria set out by the brand to drive performance and profitability.

Responsibilities
* Assist in Managing the Sales Executives and Sales Administrators to ensure they meet their set goals and objectives in order to achieve high sales performance
* Help to oversee the transfer of product knowledge to the sales team to ensure everyone is up to date on the product/brand and has received the relevant training
* Contribute in developing and achieving a Department Profit Plan, ensuring it involves all financial aspects of the department, including, but not limited to:
o Annual business plans
o Marketing and advertising budgets
o Operating expenses
o Capital budgets
o Assessments of sales forecasts and potential
* Support and help to oversee the department’s administrative control system to ensure it is being followed correctly (i.e., complete appraisals, mileage and Hire Purchase Inspections (HPI) checks of all vehicles that have been received as a part exchange or have been purchased for cash)
* Ensure all enquires are handled effectively following the correct sales process and that all subsequent transactions are recorded in the right way (i.e., insurance, mechanical protection, and the commission received)
* Ensure the ‘Treating Customer Fairly’ process is followed to assist the Group in meeting its obligations under the Financial Conduct Authority’s guidelines
* Help to manage the stock (new and used vehicles) daily, considering residual values and ageing
* Ensure customer records in both computer and paper formats are kept accurately and in line with GDPR
* Control the security of all vehicle stocks, keys, and vehicle documents
* If applicable, ensure all used vehicles offered for sale are presented in accordance with the brand’s Used Car standards, complete with photographs and mailer material
* If applicable, assist with authorising all repair and preparatory work on sales vehicles to ensure they meet the brand standards
* Help oversee the showroom and outside display areas ensuring they are kept to a high standard for any potential customers
* Help manage the presentation of the dealership off-site, through marketing activities such as advertising, sponsorship, or promotions, to ensure conformity with the brand specifications
* Deputise in the absence of the Sales Manager

* Technical knowledge gained in retail motor industry
* Numerate and articulate
* In-depth knowledge of financial systems i.e. Connect online, TCF SAF and manufacturer systems
* A full driving licence

* Experience in a similar sales environment
