About the role:
This pragmatic and delivery-focused role involves using data, analytics, and hydraulic modelling to deliver bespoke outcomes for StormHarvester customers as part of our Data & Modelling team. It is ideal for a Hydraulic Modeller, Project Engineer, Project Scientist, Urban Drainage Modeller, or similar professional interested in expanding their data analytics skills within Python while leveraging existing modelling expertise. You will be part of a fast-moving, collaborative, cross-functional team with opportunities to develop your skills in applying innovative data-driven techniques. We will provide time and resources for upskilling where needed.
The role involves project ownership and working directly with customers to deliver timely results, including:
* Understanding the StormHarvester product
* Scoping and delivering projects using the platform, data analysis, visualization, and simulations in Infoworks ICM
* Collaborating with the development team to enhance tooling functionality
You will have ownership of individual projects while working within the team. There will be opportunities to advocate for industry best practices to ensure our solutions meet customer needs. Your work will help water utilities predict and prevent pollution events and inform capital investment decisions, contributing to environmental improvements.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver projects to customers in collaboration with the Data & Modelling team
* Work independently on projects, estimating time and prioritizing tasks
* Engage with customers to understand requirements, present findings, and integrate solutions into the StormHarvester platform
* Identify bugs and support issues as part of the engineering team
* Possess a third-level qualification
* Have 3+ years of experience with Infoworks ICM or similar hydraulic modelling software
* Experience with QGIS or similar tools
* Data exploration and visualization skills
* Willingness to collaborate within a team with shared goals
* Strong work ethic, adaptable to a fast-growing environment
* Ability to review and provide constructive feedback
* Commitment to high-quality work
* Curiosity and eagerness to learn and develop
Additional preferred qualifications include:
* Higher degree (Masters or PhD)
* Experience with Python, Pandas, Geopandas
* Ruby scripting in Infoworks ICM Exchange
* Experience in Software Engineering or Data Science within the wastewater sector
* Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS
* Experience with agile methodologies
* Client or contractor engagement experience
* Model build and verification experience, including flow survey management
* Options development to mitigate flooding or spills
