Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy culinary establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. This role involves managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a smooth workflow to provide an outstanding dining experience for our guests. The Kitchen Manager will play a vital role in maintaining high-quality food production while fostering a positive and efficient working environment.

Duties

* Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure consistency and quality.
* Oversee food production processes, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
* Manage kitchen staff by scheduling shifts, delegating tasks, and providing training to optimise performance.
* Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to minimise waste and control costs.
* Enforce strict food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with health regulations.
* Develop menus in collaboration with the culinary team, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
* Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained properly and report any repairs or replacements needed.
* Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service through efficient kitchen operations.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery during busy periods.
* Maintain a positive working environment that promotes teamwork, motivation, and professional development.

Requirements

* Proven experience in food production, cooking, serving, or food preparation within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
* Previous management or supervising experience in a culinary environment is essential.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
* Extensive culinary experience with knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
* Familiarity with restaurant operations, including inventory management and cost control.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
* Knowledge of hospitality industry trends and customer service excellence.
* Barista experience is considered an advantage but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £28,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
