Operations Controller - Coventry
Salary from £45,000 p.a. dependent upon experience
£1000 signing bonus! (paid to direct applicants only after 6 months continuous service)
37.5 hours paid per week (1/2 unpaid lunch per day)

What you will do
The Operations Controller will proactively manage the GVS process from planning to invoice/claim closure, ensuring adherence to standards, managing customer expectations, and optimizing workshop profitability.
Main Tasks:
* Adhere to Volvo Service process steps at all times.
* Conduct regular process reviews with your manager to identify and rectify operational issues.
* Manage service department performance to meet KPIs.
* Plan workshop/support resources to fulfill OTI process requirements.
* Support CSR/Workshop Supervisors in job specification, quoting, and invoicing tasks.
* Support invoice/claim closure processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Assist in specification/codification of complex jobs and ensure customer agreement.
* Manage handovers of complex jobs to ensure customer buy-in.
* Hold daily production meetings to plan workload and resources.
* Anticipate production issues and provide active support.
* Monitor staff performance and identify development needs.
* Perform competence assessments and address gaps.
* Provide training to bridge competency gaps.
* Manage productive wage submissions monthly.
* Report and control lost/non-available hours.
* Assist in the production of the annual business plan.
* Work according to Volvo UK standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental care.
* Manage scheduled customer meetings.
* Perform other duties as reasonably requested.
Who are you?
What we are looking for:
* Experience in the motor vehicle industry, preferably with a technical background in a commercial workshop.
* Full knowledge of VOSA requirements and MOT testers manual.
* Leadership experience within teams.
* Knowledge of workshop KPIs.
Education / Professional Qualifications:
* City and Guilds, NVQ 3 or equivalent in Motor Vehicle Technology.
* Same experience and knowledge as above.
