Join to apply for the Staff Nurse role at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. This role is based at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, part of the UHSussex site in Brighton. Two positions are available on our Children’s Critical Care Unit.
We welcome applications from those who currently hold UK NMC registration. If you hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship, we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.
We are a 10 bedded Level 2 Children’s Critical Care Unit providing care for medical and surgical patients, children requiring long-term ventilation, and acute non-invasive ventilation. We have a strong track record, including a low intubation rate in children with bronchiolitis.

Responsibilities
* Provide excellent nursing care to children in the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital Critical Care Unit.
* Work closely with the Ward Team and senior nurses within the Children’s Hospital.
* Prioritise, deliver and organise patient care with a proactive and positive approach.
* Lead, work alongside, and motivate a multidisciplinary team; participate in teaching and management activities as appropriate.
* Engage with critical care educators and participate in Level 2 children’s critical care training courses.
Qualifications and Skills
* Registered Nurse with current UK NMC registration (or eligibility); overseas qualified nurses not currently eligible for sponsorship.
* Strong clinical, teaching, and interpersonal skills; ability to lead and support a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to prioritise, organise, and manage patient care in a busy critical care environment.
