Charity People have partnered with The Migraine Trust, a leading health charity which makes an impact and difference in a person’s life by providing them with information and support are looking for a part time Finance Officer – 21 hours per week.

Working within a small but impactful team and a forward thinking and inspiring Head of Finance and Operations, this is a newly created role for the organisation.

Location: London Bridge

Hours: 21 hours per week

Salary: £36,000 per annum which will be pro ratad for 3 days a week

Hybrid: once a week in London

Working very closely with the Head of Finance, your main duties and responsibilities are;

1. Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
2. Manage pre-paid cards and expenses claims
3. Online banking and setting up payments
4. Bank Reconciliations
5. Assist with the production of monthly management accounts, posting accruals and prepayments
6. Support the production of the year-end accounts and audit
7. Support the production of the annual budgets, reforecasts and reporting on variances
8. Maintain shared email accounts and finance records
9. Procurement of office supplies
10. Legacy income administration
11. Restricted funding administration
12. Reconciliation of fundraising income to financial records
13. Paying-in cheques
14. Other general admin duties when required
15. Attending 3-4 Team Connection Days per year in London office

Candidates applying for this role must have the following skills and experience;

16. Part-qualified or studying towards (AAT Level 3 or equivalent) or qualified by experience
17. At least 2 years’ experience in the similar role in the non-for-profit sector
18. Knowledge of SORP (desirable)
19. Experience of Xero and approval workflows (for example Approval Max)
20. Understanding of fund accounting and reporting on restricted grants
21. Understanding of VAT (we have trading subsidiary that is VAT-registered)
22. Organised and efficient, with the ability to multitask and manage tight deadlines
23. Exceptional attention to detail with high levels of numerical accuracy
24. Very good communication skills, both in writing and verbally
25. Ability to operate effectively in a support role to senior staff and an effective Team player

Benefits offered;

26. 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays (pro-rata for part-time employees), which increases for each year of service up to a maximum of 30 days plus Bank Holidays.
