What\'s the Job About?
We are looking for a Finance Apprentice who will begin their AAT journey whilst working with us. BPA will sponsor studies and work closely with our chosen learning provider to guide you through your AAT Level 2 Apprenticeship, whilst giving you the opportunity to put your newly learned skills into practice in a real working environment.
As a Finance Apprentice, you will work within a supportive and friendly finance team, gaining exposure to a wide range of finance and accounting activities including sales ledger, purchase ledger, invoicing, client fee calculations, expense processing, reconciliations, and reporting.
This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week), with 7.5 hours (1 day per week) specifically allocated for your apprenticeship studies.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Learn and develop skills in sales ledger and purchase ledger.
* Calculate client fees and prepare invoices in line with contract terms.
* Enter transactions into our accounting systems.
* Process purchase ledger invoices, staff expenses, and timesheets.
* Support Engineering and Operations teams in understanding invoicing processes.
* Reconcile client records and allocate payments correctly.
* Assist with month-end procedures and provide cost/credit control reports.
* Liaise with customers to resolve invoicing queries.
* Compile debtor information and assist with chasing overdue accounts.
* Support statutory, internal, and client audits.
* Proactively suggest improvements in finance processes.
* Carry out any other finance/administration duties as required by the Financial Accountant.
What You’ll Need
* Educated to a minimum Level 2 in Maths & English (GCSE grades 9–4 / A*–C).
* Proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Confident user of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
* Be a UK resident aged 16+.
* Have the right to work in the UK and have lived in the EU for 3 years at the start of the apprenticeship.
Basic salary of £19,048
