Purpose of the role To provide a warm, respectful, and safe welcome to all guests entering the hostel, supporting the front-of-house team in maintaining a secure and supportive environment. Main responsibilities Greeting and Welcoming Guests: Offer a friendly and non-judgmental welcome to individuals accessing the hostel, helping them feel safe and respected. Safety Monitoring: Observe guest arrivals and departures, report any concerns or incidents to staff, and help maintain a calm and secure environment. Access Control Support: Assist with monitoring entry points, ensuring only authorised individuals enter the premises in line with hostel policies. Information and Signposting: Provide basic information about hostel services, meal times, and facilities, and signpost guests to staff or external services when needed. Supportive Presence: Be available to listen and offer reassurance to guests, while maintaining appropriate boundaries and confidentiality. Team Collaboration: Work closely with hostel staff and other volunteers to ensure smooth operations and consistent safety practices.
