About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and responsible Technical Buyer to join our team. As part of the team, you will play a key role in sourcing and purchasing high quality machining components, parts, and materials. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be working in our state-of-the-art facility alongside a friendly, supportive team. Key Responsibilities: Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate sourcing of materials and components Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to align procurement decisions with technical requirements and project timelines Develop current supplier relations for the supply of all parts to support multiple departments Negotiate purchases of materials with suppliers Building and maintaining a supply base while focusing on supplier development Developing good relationships with suppliers to ensure demand for materials is met and deliveries made on time Support with the general process for improvement to ensure an efficient and reliable sourcing of materials Development of procurement strategy, establishment of purchasing budgets, plans, policies systems and procedures within the organisation Negotiate contractual terms to optimise value and compliance Ensure that internal operations and supplier activities are carried out in an ethical, responsible manner Product definition, attributes and specification cascade for sourcing activities Conduct component count Ensure the planning system is accurate and up to date Negotiate costs down where appropriate Manage supplier payments to ensure material planning and production processes are not disrupted What We're Looking For: Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings. Proficient in Microsoft Office Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Experience working with international suppliers and global sourcing is beneficial. Able to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors. Communicate effectively with key stakeholders/directors. Clear and concise communication.
