1. To oversee and maintain the day-to-day financial operations of assigned schools within the Trust
2. To ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions, including purchase orders, invoices, journals and reconciliations
3. To manage control accounts, bank reconciliations, payroll reconciliations and ie systems such as Arbour and PayPal
4. To assist in maintaining the integrity of the Trust’s accounting systems and records, budgeting and financial reporting.
5. To support the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Finance Manager in the preparation, consolidation and review of annual budgets and multi-year financial plans
6. To prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis and reports for Budget Holders, the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees
7. To contribute to scenario modelling and financial forecasting to support strategic decision-making,pliance and Audit
8. To ensurepliance with Department for Education (DfE) requirements, Trust Financial Regulations and statutory reporting deadlines
9. To prepare documentation and reconciliations for internal and external audits
10. To support the preparation and submission of statutory returns, VAT claims and other financial submissions
11. To maintain records to ensurepliance with payroll, taxation and pension obligations
12. To promote sustainability and value for money in all aspects of financial management, contributing to efficient resource use and environmental responsibility
Systems, Analysis and Improvement
13. To maintain and develop the Trust’s financial systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
14. To support the continued development and implementation of digital finance tools and dashboards, ensuring that financial information is accessible, accurate and supports data-driven decision-making
15. To lead on process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls
16. To prepare and analyse financial data for internal and external stakeholders, including the DfE, auditors and the Trust Board
Ie Generation and Asset Management
17. To support the CFO and Finance Manager in identifying new ie opportunities and funding streams
18. To provide financial guidance and training to school-based administrators and budget holders.
19. To build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, auditors and regulatory bodies
20. To represent the Finance Team at meetings when required and contribute to cross-trust initiatives.
