Pay: £89–£104 per day (PAYE)

We’re working with a nurturing school in Ponteland that’s looking for a compassionate and resilient 1:1 Support Assistant to work with a pupil who needs a steady, understanding presence to help them thrive.
This school offers a caring, inclusive environment where pupils’ emotional wellbeing is at the heart of everything they do. Staff work together to create a calm, structured space where every young person is seen, heard, and supported.
Your role will include:
Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
Building strong, trusting relationships that encourage confidence and self-regulation
Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral staff to deliver tailored strategies
Supporting classroom learning and promoting positive behaviour
Helping the pupil engage with learning and develop resilience day by day
We’re looking for someone who:
Brings empathy, patience, and a positive outlook to each day
Has experience supporting children with additional needs (SEMH experience preferred)
Can remain calm under pressure and use initiative when things get tricky
Is dedicated to helping young people achieve their potential—academically and emotionally

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
