Paradigm Housing Group are a Social Housing organisation with 19,00 properties in our portfolio, covering the South East of England. As a Structural/External Repairs Technician, you will complete day-to-day Brick repairs and external maintenance work, constructing and maintaining the brickwork, patios and fencing for our properties. Due to the nature of this role be able to read create and or analyse specifications, determine the most accurate layout, and mark guidelines. You should also be able to mix mortar powder, sand, clay, and water correctly to obtain an acceptable consistency. Youll also be expected to construct safe and durable walls, patios or fencing and fix damaged parts, for example, brick or block walls, various patio slabs and a variety of fencing methods. Youll install all materials in good order and set up systems, such as insulation and drainage. As a Paradigm Technician working for our DLO, well supply you with a fully equipped hybrid van (no insurance renewals or services to concern yourself with as we do that) and a fuel card to ensure you can get around easily during your working week. Well provide you with an electronic tablet where your you can see your scheduled jobs and access our intranet for the latest company news. Youll also get a mobile phone, work clothing and PPE and well aim to book your jobs in your local area where possible. You will be the face of Paradigm and will deliver a quality service to our customers in their homes, so a friendly and polite manner is as important as competence and high standards of work in your given trade. Responsibilities Include: Repair/replace Brick walls using various materials and tools Repair/replace patios using various materials and tools Repair/replace fencing / boundaries using various materials and tools Deliver projects within timeline Inspect damages and estimate costs of labour Repair or replace broken materials Remove debris from site to place materials Ensure to protect building projects from weather conditions, such as rain or snow Use hand tools and other equipment (e.g. scaffold, ladder) Follow safety rules Set up vapor barriers and vents What you need: Relevant City & Guilds or NVQ or relevant experience in bricklaying / groundworks or landscaping. A sound knowledge of relevant legislation and/or Codes of Practice i.e. construction, building regulations and health and safety Experience using various hand tools and equipment, such as scaffolds and plant, taking safety rules into consideration Physical strength and good balance Ability to work at heights A reasonable level of literacy and numeracy to enable associated works to be completed Full valid manual driving licence.
