Senior Electronics Engineer – Belfast, UK (Hybrid)
Thales Integrated Airspace-protection Systems (IAS) UK designs and manufactures advanced technologies for air surveillance, mission planning, missiles, and related systems. The Belfast site is a key hub for development and the global Space Electric Propulsion Integration Centre.
Location: Belfast, United Kingdom. This is a hybrid role.
Responsibilities
* Design of circuit assemblies and systems.
* Contribute to development of electronic architectures to meet design requirements.
* Component and subsystem evaluation.
* Create electronic schematics and collaborate with PCB layout engineers.
* Testing, validation, and debugging of circuit assemblies.
* Develop and integrate testing of electronic assemblies.
* Contribute to electronics specifications, development and verification plans.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
* Support product fault finding and investigation activities.
What we are looking for
* A relevant Engineering, Scientific or Numerate degree.
* Good understanding of electronic circuit design.
* Solid experience in at least one of the following areas:
o Power Electronics
o Digital Electronics
o Analogue Electronics
o Electronics Architecture
o High Frequency Electronics
* Experience with electronics design and simulation tools.
* Understanding of DFT and DFM requirements.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication within a diverse, professional environment.
* Self-motivated with initiative and strong teamwork skills.
Nice to have
* Experience in design of equipment for safety-critical environments.
* Membership with a relevant professional institution (eg IET, IEEE).
Security Clearance
This role requires SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held; if not, the successful applicant must obtain and maintain SC Clearance. Details and guidance are available from the National Security Vetting Agency (GOV.UK).
