Senior Special School Nurse - Wirral
TERM TIME ONLY
This is a new post that will provide direct care to the children attending special schools in Wirral who require a medical model of care delivery whilst in school.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Special School Nurse. The successful candidate will have proven leadership, experience and knowledge of school nursing. If you want to make a difference to the health of school aged children attending special schools within Wirral and have a commitment to reducing health inequalities we would very much like to hear from you.
You will work closely with the education and social care to provide services in response to identified need, both public health and safeguarding, whilst working in partnership with Wirral Local Authority to take the local children\'s agenda forward.
School Nursing is a fast paced, dynamic and challenging service, and as a School Nurse with us you will be given opportunity to demonstrate leadership whilst working within the public health, health promotion and safeguarding domains.
You should be well organised, have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with children and young people both in school and within other education provider settings. You must be committed to working effectively both within a team and independently. An in depth knowledge of the current trends and developments within school nursing and the health agenda relating to children\'s services is essential.
Responsibilities
* Provide direct care to children in special schools in Wirral who require a medical model of care delivery while in school.
* Lead school nursing services with a focus on public health, safeguarding and collaboration with education and social care.
* Work in partnership with Wirral Local Authority to advance the local children\'s agenda.
* Participate in continuous professional development and maintain up-to-date knowledge of school nursing practices.
Qualifications
* Proven leadership, experience and knowledge of school nursing.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with children, young people and families.
* Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
* Knowledge of current trends and developments within school nursing and child health.
