The Role — Mobile Support Unit (MSU) Officer
Base One Response | Frontline Operational Team
This is a visible, accountable, mobile safeguarding role.
You will operate across multiple residential and client sites delivering patrol, rapid response, lock-down support, incident management, and reassurance in environments that require presence and professionalism.
You are not just attending alarms, you are protecting vulnerable people, property, and reputation.
You will:
* Conduct structured mobile patrols with route tracking and accountability
* Respond immediately to alarms, incidents, and urgent call-outs
* Secure vulnerable and high-value premises
* Provide key holding and controlled access
* Deliver professional radio communications
* Complete clear, factual, defensible incident reports
* Escalate appropriately to Response Manager / Directors
* De-escalate conflict confidently and proportionately
* Engage with vulnerable residents in a trauma-informed, safeguarding-focused manner that reduces risk and promotes stability
* Use minimum force only when lawful and necessary
* Operate BWV and reporting systems correctly and consistently
* Represent Base One's standards at all times
We work with real environments, supported housing, education settings, commercial sites, car parks, and community hubs. Your judgement matters.
Working Pattern
Night shifts: 7:00pm – 7:00am
* 12-hour shifts
* Includes weekends and bank holidays
* Rotational roster based on operational need

This role requires maturity and confidence. You will often be the senior presence on site.
Essential Requirements
* Minimum 2 years' front line security experience
* Valid SIA Licence
* Current First Aid qualification
* Full clean UK driving licence
* Strong written reporting skills
* Ability to work independently across varied environments

All officers must:
* Arrive on time and self-manage transport
* Wear full uniform, clean and presentable
* Operate radios correctly
* Wear and use Body Worn Video in line with policy
* Follow SIA legislation and company procedures without exception
* Maintain conduct that reflects our safeguarding-led ethos
