Salary: Volunteer (expenses paid)
Our Special Constables are a vital part of the West Midlands Police family, playing a crucial role in keeping our communities safe and providing excellent service to the public.
They have the same police powers and equipment as regular officers and wear the same uniform, but serve voluntarily in their free time.
This role is exciting and rewarding, offering opportunities to volunteer across various teams such as Response, neighbourhood policing, traffic, and major events.
Once trained, you can undertake attachments in different departments to broaden your skills and knowledge, with prospects for promotion and rank progression.
Volunteering can help you learn new skills for free, especially valuable during the current cost of living crisis. We also offer benefits like discounts on shopping, electronics, holidays, and more.
Volunteering does not affect your current benefits; you can volunteer as many hours as you wish, provided you meet your benefit conditions. Please consult your Job Centre for guidance.
