Position Summary:
Our Sales Engineering leader at Perforce is searching for an Associate Sales Engineer to join the team. The role is developmental within the sales engineering team. Individuals will hone their expertise in sales engineering strategies and practices. They will support various technical sales initiatives to identify customer solutions while balancing customer needs and challenges.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan, manage, and execute technical validation for clients as part of the sales process.
2. Assist and guide Puppet customers in technology adoption and success.
3. Maintain regular contact with key accounts to understand business problems and provide targeted solutions.
4. Assist the sales team in qualifying opportunities, considering customer needs.
5. Generate and present demonstrations and presentations tailored to customer scenarios.
6. Collaborate with customers to generate Proofs of Concepts tailored to their challenges.
7. Write proposals for Puppet services, considering customer needs.
8. Respond to RFIs and RFPs with technical solutions involving Puppet technologies.
9. Stay updated with Puppet technologies and related deployment tools.
10. Participate in sales planning, QBRs, and strategic initiatives to build pipelines and drive growth.
11. Build trusted relationships within target accounts and contribute to business development.
12. Present at Puppet and industry events.
13. Update and maintain relevant customer information databases.
Requirements:
1. Technical degree or 2 years of infrastructure operational/administrative experience.
2. Passion for continuous learning and growth in technical and social skills.
3. Drive to reduce toil through automation.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
5. Experience with in-person/remote video presentations.
6. Basic understanding of key technologies like git, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, Openstack, VMware.
7. Scripting skills (Ruby, Python, Perl) preferred.
8. Optional: Unix/Linux SysAdmin or DevOps background, Windows administration, automation experience.
9. Ability to handle objections and learn quickly.
10. Ability to work in unstructured environments with limited travel, including in our London office one day a week.
