Portsmouth Water is seeking a Lead Engineer for the Havant Thicket Reservoir project to support the Engineering Manager in delivering this landmark infrastructure development. The role involves managing design reviews, technical queries, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and contractual timelines. The Lead Engineer will oversee engineering work packages, act as the technical lead on smaller project components, and ensure accurate data availability for contractors. Engagement with internal teams and stakeholders is essential for alignment, along with contributing to engineering assurance systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Chair regular meetings with the Design Guardians to discuss lookahead, actions, and issues.
2. Manage responses to Technical Queries and Design Submissions from main contractors, liaising with stakeholders.
3. Monitor and review the Design Guardian's performance against KPIs, providing feedback.
4. Coordinate engineering requests from and to contractors.
5. Participate in collaborative planning with Main Works Contractors.
6. Lead weekly meetings with PW Operations to resolve queries.
7. Facilitate technical workshops to ensure alignment on solutions.
8. Represent engineering at Early Warning meetings and provide progress reports.
9. Review contractor programs monthly for resource forecasting.
10. Produce engineering papers for stakeholder engagement and governance.
11. Attend regular meetings with the HTR Engineering Manager.
Requirements:
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Effective stakeholder engagement abilities.
* Understanding of the design process and its commercial implications.
* Team player with good interpersonal skills.
* Ability to coordinate inputs from multiple parties and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams.
* Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field.
* Experience in design management.
