A leading aerospace research organisation in Bedford is seeking a Business Analyst to join its Digital & Technology function, working closely with a Senior Business Analyst to support critical transformation initiatives. In this role, you won't just be documenting requirements - you will be mapping the DNA of high-stakes engineering environments. You will analyse intricate technical landscapes, from network switch configurations to advanced 3D modelling software, ensuring future growth is built on a secure, efficient, and data-driven foundation. The Role Impact Operational Discovery Lead detailed analysis of technical and operational environments, producing logical models that capture processes, assets, locations, networks, and access controls across world-class research facilities. Strategic Alignment Assess feasibility and deliverability of change requests, ensuring initiatives strengthen security posture and align with long-term business objectives. Advanced Systems Integration Catalogue and evaluate the purpose of high-end engineering tools such as Catia and SolidWorks, improving how engineering teams operate. Problem Definition & Requirements Translate problem statements into clear functional and non-functional requirements, including interim and long-term needs and defined acceptance criteria. Data & Process Analysis Model complex data flows and business processes to support optimisation, risk reduction, and informed decision-making. Mission-Critical Compliance Ensure systems and data-handling processes meet strict government classifications (Official-Sensitive / Secret) and regulatory standards. What We're Looking For Security Clearance Active SC Clearance is required. Technical Literacy Strong ability to model complex data movements and process improvements using techniques such as SWOT, PESTLE, and Use Case modelling. Analytical Rigor Proven experience in requirements elicitation, backlog creation, and prioritisation within highly regulated, defence, or manufacturing-led environments. Collaborative Mindset Confident engaging with Subject Matter Experts, delivery teams, and senior stakeholders to turn problem statements into structured delivery roadmaps. Delivery Environment Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery settings is desirable.
