The Role
We are seeking an organised, approachable, and professional Receptionist & Student Support Assistant to be the first point of contact at Futures Institute. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our reception area, supporting student welfare and attendance, and assisting with key administrative tasks such as exams and first aid.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy, people-focused environment and wants to make a meaningful contribution to the school community.
Key Responsibilities
 * Reception Duties
 * Provide a warm, professional welcome to students, parents, visitors, and staff.
 * Manage incoming calls, emails, and enquiries efficiently and courteously.
 * Maintain visitor security procedures, ensuring all guests are signed in and out.
 * Handle post, deliveries, and outgoing mail.
 * Coordinate minibus bookings and extracurricular club registers.
Student Support
 * Respond to student enquiries and provide practical support (e.g., equipment, uniform, resources).
 * Maintain accurate student contact and attendance data using ARBOR.
 * Monitor attendance, chase absentees, and liaise with parents regarding student welfare.
 * Support safeguarding processes and liaise with staff and parents as required.
 * Exams Administration:
 * Support the Exams Officer with exam-related administration.
 * Receive and secure exam papers and materials.
 * Assist with attendance and logistics during exam periods.
First Aid
 * Provide first aid support (training provided).
 * Contact parents or medical professionals in the event of illness or accidents.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
 * Is friendly, calm under pressure, and enjoys working with young people.
 * Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
 * Can handle confidential information with professionalism.
 * Is IT literate and confident using Google workspace and management systems (experience with ARBOR desirable).
 * Can work independently as well as part of a supportive team.
 * First Aid training will be provided if not already held.
