We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil or Environmental Engineer to join our motivated team in one of our UK offices.
As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for governance and technical accountability on various appraisal and detailed design projects. Your work will focus on design and construction projects within flood risk management, infrastructure, and environmental asset management sectors.
These projects benefit local communities and the environment, serving public and private clients. Your tasks will include options appraisal, concept design, detailed scheme design, and construction oversight.
The role involves mentoring and managing staff, contributing to bid and tender processes, and supporting the growth of our South Wales engineering team.
You will collaborate with Engineering Leads and technical staff across JBA’s offices on schemes for clients such as Natural Resources Wales, the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities, Canals and Rivers Trust, Associated British Ports, and the National Trust.
Main duties include:
* Managing projects, contracts, budgets, and client communications.
* Developing and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
* Providing technical leadership to ensure project deliverables meet client needs.
* Driving technical innovation to improve efficiency and quality.
* Contributing to business development and tender opportunities.
* Building positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
* Ensuring safety in design and compliance with CDM responsibilities.
Location:
The role is based in our Newport, South Wales office (NP20 1FQ). It may involve a mix of office, site, and remote work, supporting flexible working arrangements.
Qualifications and experience:
We seek a dedicated, enthusiastic individual with strong communication and teamwork skills. A full UK driving license is required.
A degree (or equivalent) in civil or structural engineering is essential. Candidates should be Chartered or Incorporated members of ICE or IStructE.
You should have a passion for sustainable solutions and resilient infrastructure development.
