JOB TITLE
Solicitor/Senior Solicitor (2+ years PQE) - Insolvency and Restructuring
Based in Edinburgh or Glasgow

JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a Solicitor to join our Restructuring & Insolvency team, with a focus on non-contentious restructuring matters. This is a role advising lenders, corporates, insolvency practitioners and other stakeholders on complex domestic and cross-border restructuring transactions.
You will play a key role in managing matters, supporting partners on strategic mandates, and contributing to the continued growth and reputation of the practice.
CORE TASKS
* Support and manage non-contentious restructuring and insolvency matters, including:
o Corporate and group restructurings
o Refinancings and debt restructuring transactions
o Business and asset sales out of insolvency
o Formal insolvency processes (administrations, liquidations, CVAs)
* Advise lenders, borrowers, directors and insolvency practitioners on risk, strategy and structuring options
* Draft and negotiate complex transactional documentation
* Manage multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate cross-practice input (banking, corporate, real estate, tax, employment)
* Maintain and develop strong client relationships
* Contribute to business development
* Be aware of Brodies' information security policies, and protect information assets from unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference at all times
PERSON SPECIFICATION
* 2+ years PQE
* Strong technical expertise in non-contentious restructuring and insolvency
* Experience advising lenders and/or insolvency practitioners preferred
* Commercially astute with strong drafting and negotiation skills
* Strong client relationship skills and ability to operate at senior stakeholder level
* Works to understand the Practice Area's key clients, the sectors they operate in and the challenges they face
* Demonstrates strong research skillsAbility to deal with competing priorities and meet deadlines
* Excellent knowledge of Brodies and the service it offers
