Job Description
GRAHAM is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with sound knowledge of construction methods, safety, health and environmental legislation, and processes and procedures. Reporting to the Head of SHEQ, the successful candidate will provide help and advice across our Facilities Management Contracts and provide review and support for improvements to the existing SHE procedures. The post holder should have a proactive and enthusiastic attitude and be able to interact with the site teams, various business units and the Clients teams to ensure effective relationships are established.
This is a significant role within the Company as we continue to endeavor to keep the workforce free from injury and ill health, help the Company meet our agreed objectives and targets, and ensure improvements to our current systems which provide ongoing compliance with current H&S and Environmental legislation. Location: Warrington (with Nationwide travel)Hours Per Week: Monday - Friday 40 HoursJob Type: Permanent / Full TimeThe SHE Advisorwill be responsible for: Providing support, advice and guidance to the Project Management team on SHE mattersConducting site health, safety & environmental compliance and behavioural/ cultural auditsInvestigating accidents, incidents and high potential observationsAssisting with and/or deliver relevant training programmesActing as Temporary Works Designated IndividualDelivering induction programmes, tool-box talks and briefings if requiredReviewing relevant company and subcontractors paperwork, including existing procedures and formsPreparing information for regular site bulletinsAssisting in the preparation and updating of construction phase plans, method statements and risk assessmentsAssisting in the preparation and updating of environment management plansBeing instrumental in encouraging observation reportingAttending and represent the company at relevant industry forumsLeading by exampleIn addition, from time to time the postholder may be required to:Assist with responses to PQQ, Bid, and tender questionsAssist with new contract mobilisationLia ise with Client requirements including joint audits and attending Client SHE meetingsAbout You EssentialFormal H&S qualification e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimumHolder of CSCS / CSR cardAppropriate Security Clearance (or a willingness and ability to obtain it)Detailed knowledge of Temporary WorksDetailed Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislationDetailed Knowledge of relevant Environmental legislationDemonstrate a sound understanding of construction processesMinimum of 5 years H&S experience gained in construction or a construction related disciplineMinimum of 3 years experience gained in construction or asset managementDemonstrate strong communication, numeracy and literacy skillsGood working knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Word and ExcelHold a full driving license and personal vehicleBe of reasonable health and mobility for construction site visitsDesirableNEBOSH Construction Certificate or DiplomaExperience gained from working directly on or with site teams in a construction environmentWorking towards, or possessing, as a minimum Grad IOSH or equivalent professional qualificationDetailed knowledge of the relevant management standards (45001 / HSG65)Awareness of the quality management and environmental systems and standards (9001/ 14001/ etc.)Knowledge of a Behavioural Based Safety approach to H&S improvementAwareness of current Client standards and expectationsTPBN1_UKTJ
