Fire Safety Assessor / Fire Safety Technician Location: Central London (approx. 80%) + occasional UK travel

About the Role Our client is seeking a Fire Safety Assessor / Fire Safety Technician to join their expanding team. This is a practical, varied role involving Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), fire drill observations, and wider fire safety assurance work across commercial and public-sector properties, with the majority of work carried out in Central London.
This position is ideal for someone with experience in fire safety who wants to develop broader technical skills, including passive fire protection (full training provided). For the right candidate, the role offers a clear progression route into team leadership, including training, mentoring and developing a team of passive fire technicians.
Key Responsibilities
Fire Risk Assessment & General Fire Safety Conduct Fire Risk Assessments in line with UK fire safety legislation (RRFSO 2005, Fire Safety Act 2021, PAS 79).
Produce accurate, professional FRA reports with clear recommendations.
Observe and evaluate fire drills, providing written analysis and improvement actions.
Provide competent fire safety advice to clients on compliance, evacuation procedures, and risk reduction.
Passive Fire Protection (Training Provided) Assist with inspections of passive fire measures (compartmentation, penetrations, fire-stopping, fire doors).
Support the development of new passive fire protection services.
Work towards recognised passive fire qualifications.
Team Development & Leadership Support the creation of an in-house passive fire safety technician team.
Assist with recruitment, onboarding and training of new technicians.
Take on supervisory responsibilities as the team grows.
Operations & Administration Maintain accurate site records and digital documentation.
Communicate professionally with clients to ensure high service standards.
Attend office days for admin tasks or work from home on non-site days as needed.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Experience completing Fire Risk Assessments or working in a fire safety-related role.
Understanding of fire safety principles, fire behaviour, evacuation procedures and UK legislation.
Ability to assess risk and produce clear written reports.
Strong communication and client-facing skills.
Willingness to travel across the UK and stay overnight where required.
Desirable (Training can be provided)
Experience or qualifications in passive fire protection / fire-stopping.
Experience mentoring or supervising junior colleagues.
Membership with a recognised body (IFE, IFSM, FRACS, etc.).
Salary & Benefits £38,000£50,000 basic salary depending on experience.
