The Company
We are working with a well-established and growing demolition subcontractor delivering demolition, civils and enabling works across the region. With a strong forward order book and long-term growth plans, this is very much a role with prospects, offering genuine career progression into a Commercial Management role within the next year.
The Role
Due to continued expansion, the business is seeking a Quantity Surveyor who is confident running their own projects end-to-end and wants to take the next step in their commercial career.
You will initially manage 5–6 live projects at any one time, typically ranging from £50k–£500k, while also contributing to estimating and tendering activities.
Importantly, this role offers a clear opportunity to step into a Commercial Management position within the next 12 months, with responsibility for overseeing and developing the Estimating function.
Key Responsibilities
* Full commercial management of demolition and enabling works projects
* Producing valuations, managing variations, and concluding final accounts
* Preparing estimates for tendered and negotiated works
* Commercial reporting, cost control, and forecasting
* Issuing Early Warning Notices and managing compensation events
* Working under NEC contracts
* Liaising with site teams, clients, and directors
* Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff as the role develops
About You
* Experience as a Quantity Surveyor
* Background in demolition, civils, or groundworks, or specialist contractor
* Proven ability to run your own projects independently
* Confident managing variations, notices, and cost reporting
* Ambitious, forward-thinking, and keen to progress into Commercial Management
