Quality Assurance Engineer
Kirkbymoorside with travel to client sites across the UK
Occasional hybrid working may be available once established and depending on operational requirements.

The Role
As a Quality Assurance Engineer you’ll carry out inspections both on‑site and at supplier locations (including Aberdeen, Birmingham and other UK sites) ensuring components, assemblies and fabricated parts meet required specifications. Your work will support ROV manufacturing projects, quality documentation and supplier performance.
Day‑to‑day you will:
* Carry out mechanical machining and weld inspections against engineering drawings and specifications
* Inspect fabricated and machined components both on‑site and at supplier facilities, completing dimensional reports and supporting engineering change control
* Perform mechanical inspections, paint shop checks, weld inspections, thickness measurements and visual assessments
* Build and maintain certification packs, route cards, test reports and calibration documentation
* Support vendor quality management and contribute to NCRs, CAPA actions and continuous improvement activities
* Make recommendations for process improvements and ensure high housekeeping and compliance standards across all stages of inspection
This is a role with real variety, combining hands‑on engineering inspection, supplier interaction and documentation ownership within a busy manufacturing environment.
About You
You’ll bring solid experience in mechanical inspection within a manufacturing setting, strong documentation skills and the confidence to work independently at supplier sites. You’ll be proactive, organised and comfortable communicating with production engineering and supply chain teams.
You’ll need:
* ISO Auditor qualification
* Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 45001 or ISO 14001 frameworks
* Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret technical specifications
* Experience using inspection tools such as vernier calipers and micrometers
* Familiarity with project quality requirements (ITPs, quality plans, etc.)
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK as required
* Candidates must have Subsea ROV experience
