We're working with a well-established organisation looking to appoint a Building Surveyor to its Asset Management team. This key role involves delivering capital investment works, cyclical and statutory maintenance, and ensuring building safety compliance across a diverse property portfolio.
The Role
As a Building Surveyor, you'll manage technical and complex projects from planning and tendering to delivery and sign-off. You will also engage residents through formal Resident Assurance Meetings (RAMs) and informal sessions like Fire Risk Assessments, providing updates, addressing concerns, and gathering feedback. For each project, you'll coordinate pre-start meetings with contractors and lead resident-focused sessions to explain works and answer queries, fostering trust and transparency.

* Prepare tender documentation, oversee contracts, and supervise sites
* Ensure compliance with H&S legislation, CDM regulations, and building safety standards
* Act as Building Safety Manager, maintaining visibility across key schemes
* Lead Resident Assurance Meetings (RAMs), communicating key messages and responding to concerns
* Facilitate pre-start meetings with contractors and residents on every project
* Support informal resident meetings (e.g., FRA engagement sessions)
* Build and maintain trust-based relationships with residents through clear communication
What We're Looking For
* Experience in building surveying or a similar technical role
* Ability to present confidently to groups and engage directly with residents
* Strong knowledge of contract management, quality control, and regulatory compliance
* Familiarity with building safety legislation; experience as Principal Designer desirable
* Degree or HND in construction-related subject or equivalent professional experience
