Job Description
Our client, a globally recognised organisation with a highly respected and long-established brand, is looking to appoint an exceptional Head of Compliance on a permanent basis.
This is a pivotal leadership role, reporting into senior stakeholders and leading a team of Senior Managers. Positioned at the heart of the business, you will shape and embed a strong compliance culture while enabling sustainable, commercially focused growth across an international organisation.
As Head of Compliance, you will take ownership of the organisation’s risk and compliance agenda, ensuring robust governance, effective controls and a proactive approach to regulatory and business risk. You will partner closely with executive leaders, influencing key decisions and driving a culture where compliance is viewed as a strategic enabler rather than a constraint.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and continuous enhancement of the enterprise-wide risk and compliance framework.
* Define and embed clear governance structures, accountability models, and ownership across first and second lines of defence.
* Drive consistency across central functions, local markets, and Group teams through effective operating models and RACI frameworks.
* Act as the primary liaison with Group Risk and Regulatory stakeholders, building strong and collaborative relationships.
* Champion compliance awareness and training programmes that strengthen understanding of ethics, risk, and regulatory obligations.
* Lead reporting into governance forums, providing clear insight on KPIs, control effectiveness, audits, and remediation activities.
* Deliver high-quality reporting and strategic insight to support executive decision-making.
* Partner with Internal Audit and assurance functions to strengthen organisational oversight.
* Provide independent, pragmatic advice to senior leaders on regulatory requirements, risk appetite, and mitigation strategies.
* Ensure compliance is embedded within commercial activity, customer engagements, and product/service development.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing compliance team operating across multiple jurisdictions.
About You
You are an experienced compliance and risk leader with a proven track record in complex, regulated, multinational environments.
You will bring:
* Significant experience designing and implementing risk and compliance frameworks.
* Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, governance, and enterprise risk management.
* The credibility and confidence to influence and challenge at Executive and Board level.
* A demonstrated ability to drive cultural change and embed risk-aware decision-making.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory issues into practical business guidance.
* Exceptional stakeholder management capabilities within matrixed, international organisations.
* Experience operating across multiple jurisdictions and navigating diverse regulatory landscapes.
Experience within technology, telecommunications, and/or B2B environments would be highly advantageous.
