Job Title: Lead Energy Technician
Position Type: Full-time, hourly
Job Summary:
The Lead Energy Technician helps homeowners improve energy efficiency by conducting Energize CT Energy Assessments. Responsibilities include modeling homes in energy software, diagnosing energy issues, and recommending measures like insulation, windows, and high-efficiency HVAC systems.
Essential Functions:
1. Energy Assessment:
* Perform Energize CT home energy assessments.
* Use energy software to model homes and generate reports.
* Test homes with diagnostic tools such as Blower Doors, Duct Blasters, and combustion safety tests.
* Recommend energy-saving solutions.
1. Sales and Customer Service:
* Discuss add-on measures with customers.
* Provide excellent customer service and energy efficiency education.
* Apply sales techniques to ensure satisfaction and referrals.
* Assist with paperwork.
2. Installation and Documentation:
* Install low-flow fixtures and pipe wrap insulation.
* Seal ductwork manually.
* Assist with air sealing using blower door guidance.
* Complete all paperwork accurately and promptly.
3. Professional Development and Collaboration:
* Continuously enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
* Collaborate with internal teams for cross-selling.
* Mentor and supervise an assistant technician.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Valid driver’s license.
* Lead Tech certification (preferred).
* Experience in residential construction or labor is a plus.
* Basic computer skills.
* Ability to work independently in the field.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Outgoing and adaptable personality.
* Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking.
Supervisory Role: May oversee an assistant technician.
Work Environment: Field-based, involving work indoors and outdoors, including attics, basements, rooftops, and confined spaces.
Physical Requirements:
* Regularly stand, bend, crawl, kneel; lift up to 60 pounds; climb ladders; work on roofs and stairs.
* Travel required, using personal or company vehicle.
