LOCATION: Fox Wood School, Holes Lane, Woolston, Warrington, WA1 4LS. From Autumn 2026 onwards .
The role will require travelling to and from two sites – our school (as listed above) and our new College, located on Peace Drive, WA5 1HQ
CONTRACT: Full-Time, Permanent (Term Time Only)
About the School
Fox Wood is a special school and college for pupils aged 4–19 with a wide a range of complex needs, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
Our aim is to provide the best possible holistic education, total communication support, and learning opportunities in an engaging and caring environment.
The Role-This is a vital role within our school and college, focusing on KS4 and KS5 students with Sensory Processing difficulties to ensure they are ‘ready to learn’ in both an appropriately equipped learning environment, and in community-based learning opportunities.
In accordance with the SEND Code of Practice, the post holder will facilitate a person-centred approach that places the views, wishes, and feelings of students and their parents at the heart of all planning We would particularly be interested in
applications from qualified Occupational Therapists. Please make it clear on your application what your qualifications are. The role will require you to be able to drive to and from our two sites.
Key Responsibilities
Work with KS4 and KS5 learners to assess and support with provision of activities and/or equipment to meet individual needs.
Outcome Focus: Lead the development of SMART outcomes (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-bound) to track student progress towards independence.
Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate with the Designated Medical/Clinical Officer and other health professionals to ensure an integrated approach to support.
Equality and Inclusion: Proactively support the school’s anticipatory duty to make reasonable adjustments and provide auxiliary aids and services for students who navigate a range of disabilities.
Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED): Assist the school in fulfilling its duty to eliminate discrimination and advance equality of opportunity for all students.
