About The Role
We’re looking for a dedicated and motivated Installation Operative to join our Installations Team at our Great Yarmouth branch. This role will be based at both our branch yard as well as working on site based pump installations when required.
The Installation Operative will be heavily involved in the day to day operations of our branch and projects within the surrounding region under the direction of the Installation Supervisors. Flexibility is a must due to the changing needs of our business due to the requirements of our customers.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. Promote and exercise the company’s mission statement and core values to deliver the required uniformed approach to an installation across the UK.
2. Carry out installations and deinstallations of pumps, pipework and associated equipment. as directed by the Installation Supervisor
3. Identify and recommend innovative solutions and processes to make our business and customer offering, more unique and attractive and to make ourselves more efficient in the ways to complete installation.
4. Assist our drivers with loading and unloading of our vehicles as well as checking against paperwork, missing items, damages, and fuel charges.
5. Always maintain a clean and organised work area on-site.
6. Work in conjunction with specialist sub-contractors, require completing the project in hand.
7. Put safety first every time, demonstrate the confidence, knowledge, and experience to stop the installation and advise your supervisor if any safety issues arise at any time.
This role is subject to a safety critical medical.
Essential:
8. Previous demonstrable experience of working history within a similar environment (water industry, construction, oil or gas) with a knowledge and understanding of on-site safety
9. Must be confident working at height, in confined spaces, and around sewage/wastewater
10. Ability to work on construction sites and adapt to challenging situations.
11. Work effectively with team members, ensuring clear communication and mutual support for timely project completion
12. Flexible with their working hours and be available to be ‘on call’
13. Must be willing to travel and on occasions work away from home
14. Health & Safety focused, ensuring strict adherence to guidelines at all times
15. Full driving licence (no more than 6 points).
Preferred:
16. Holder of a construction Skills CSCS card
17. National Water Hygiene Card
18. Forklift truck operator certification
19. An understanding of the workings of a temporary / permanent pumping solution
