About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HR Services Administrator to join our busy and supportive HR team. You’ll be the first point of contact for managers, employees, and prospective staff—providing professional advice and handling a wide range of HR administrative tasks. From recruitment to onboarding and contract management, you’ll play a key role in delivering a high-quality HR service across the employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Employment Lifecycle
1. Coordinate recruitment and onboarding processes, including hourly-paid roles
2. Issue contracts, variations, and termination letters
3. Maintain reminders for contract expiry dates
4. Ensure all service level agreements (SLAs) and payroll deadlines are met
HR Systems & Data
5. Accurately input starter, leaver, and contract data into the HR system
6. Maintain data quality and contribute to regular reporting
7. Ensurepliance with DBS, Right to Work, UKVI, and other employment regulations
8. Provide first-line advice on right to work matters
Team Support & Collaboration
9. Support other HR teams as needed
10. Lead onboarding for bulk student recruitment (, Student Ambassadors)
11. Create and maintain procedural documentation
12. Administer DBS checks for BU staff
13. Deliver training on recruitment and hourly-paid processes
Customer Service &munication
14. Respond to queries via phone, email, and in person professionally and efficiently
15. Participate in the departmental reception rota
16. Handle sensitive information in line with data protection legislation
17. Provide note-taking support for formal HR proceedings (, disciplinary hearings)
Internal & External Contacts
18. Internal: HR & OD colleagues, Faculty/Professional Services teams, Office of the Vice-Chancellor
19. External: Candidates, advertising agencies, regulatory bodies
