Walk‑In Service - Aberdeen Health Village
The Walk‑In Service, hosted by the Out of Hours Primary Care (GMED) team, is seeking to recruit a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our dynamic and responsive urgent care service as a Triage Nurse.
Walk‑In Services provide same‑day access to urgent primary care without the need for a booked appointment and form part of a major national pilot programme funded by the Scottish Government.
This post would suit a motivated and adaptable Registered Nurse who is confident undertaking rapid clinical assessment and triage in a fast‑paced environment, and who is keen to contribute to the delivery and ongoing development of a new urgent care service.
Responsibilities
* Undertake rapid clinical and physical assessments
* Apply standardised triage protocols to prioritise patients by clinical urgency
* Initiate immediate interventions where required and escalating care appropriately
* Work closely with GPs, ANPs, the Service Manager and the wider multidisciplinary team
* Contribute to the delivery of safe, high‑quality and person‑centred care
Qualifications
* Be a Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration
* Have post‑registration nursing experience and evidence of continued professional development
* Demonstrate strong communication, assessment and decision‑making skills
* Be able to work flexibly and respond positively to changing clinical demands
* Be committed to high standards of care, team working and service improvement
* Previous experience in urgent care, primary care, out‑of‑hours services or minor injury would be advantageous, but is not essential.

* Location: Aberdeen Health Village
* Contract: Fixed term (12 months)
* Salary: Band 5 (AFC) with enhancements for unsocial hours
* Hours: Up to full time (part‑time and flexible working considered), 12pm - 8pm Monday - Sunday
* Flexibility is essential, as the role includes evening and weekend working, with enhanced rates paid where applicable. Postholders will be expected to contribute to service cover arrangements.
