Test Support Engineer
Location: Isle of white – transport from the mainland to the Isle of White including a taxi to site is covered by the employer
£35,000 - £40,000 DOE
We are looking for a Test Support Engineer to join a team working on power device technology. The role involves hands-on fault finding, repair, and testing of in-house equipment, with opportunities to develop skills in automated test systems and software.
Key requirements:
* Must hold a British passport.
* Qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or similar).
* Strong fault-finding skills down to component level on custom test equipment.
* Able to work from circuit diagrams.
* Knowledge of semiconductor components such as diodes, transistors, and voltage regulators.
* Able to carry out soldering repairs when required.
* Understands the importance of accurate documentation.
* Works efficiently to return test equipment to production.
Desirable skills:
* Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) using off-the-shelf instruments.
* Familiarity with LabVIEW (or other programming languages).
* Interest in developing software skills.
* Ability to suggest improvements to reliability and test processes.
