Due to the continued expansion of the Exeter Nightingale Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) as it enters Phase 2 of development, we are delighted to offer opportunities for new colleagues to join our dynamic and friendly team.

This is a multi-site role, with an expectation to rotate across the Exeter Nightingale CDC, Wonford Hospital, Heavitree Hospital, and other RDUH sites as required. You will gain experience across a broad range of clinical settings including:

* Emergency Department
* Orthopaedic out-patients
* Theatres

In addition to delivering high-quality patient care, the role includes support, training and supervision of students, apprentices and Band 5 radiographers, allowing you to play a key role in developing the future workforce.

This is a genuinely varied and rewarding role, where your expertise will add real value to the patient journey.


About the Role

Our 12‑month Preceptorship Programme, redesigned in line with HCPC guidance, has successfully supported both newly qualified and experienced radiographers over recent years.

You will be provided with:

* An induction period tailored to your experience
* Initial supernumerary working, progressing to independent practice and out‑of‑hours duties

We are committed to investing in our staff and supporting career progression. This is demonstrated by our growing number of:

* Reporting Radiographers (Axial & Appendicular MSK, Chest, DXA, CT Colon, CT & MRI Head)
* A continuous rolling programme of sonographer training
* Advanced Clinical Practitioners in MSK and Interventional Ultrasound

The department continues to support postgraduate education and research, including recent MSc and PhD funding.

We also invest in future radiographers through our partnership with the University of Exeter, recruiting:

* Undergraduate Degree Apprenticeship Radiographers
* MSc Radiography Apprentices annually


About you

You’ll:

* Hold HCPC registration as a Radiographer
* Have a solid grounding in projectional radiography, with at least some NHS experience
* Have an interest in paediatric and/or adolescent imaging (desirable)
* Demonstrate leadership experience or potential (desirable)
* Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care in line with Trust values of being compassionate, inclusive, open and honest
* Show flexibility, adaptability, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills


Working Pattern

7 day working.
