Overview
Our Food Academy is looking for a full-time lecturer to join their team at the Watford Campus.
Responsibilities
* Teach front of house, food service, employability skills and food studies to students at Levels 1 to 3.
* Deliver high-quality teaching in hospitality, with knowledge of food safety, health & safety and nutrition.
* Support students with prompt, detailed assessment of work; provide personal tutoring including target setting; deliver Functional Skills where appropriate.
* Bring industry experience—ideally with at least 5 years in catering—and, where relevant, experience of working in a restaurant setting.
* Contribute to running the College Training Restaurant at lunchtimes and one evening per week during term time.
* Support and engage learners to help them progress toward becoming professional chefs or hospitality staff in a fast-paced industry.
Qualifications
* Trained and accomplished in hospitality with front of house and customer service skills.
* Knowledge and experience in food safety, health & safety and nutrition.
* Experience of working in professional hospitality organisations.
* Ideally hold a current teaching qualification; mentoring/training can be provided for those without.
* Hold qualifications in your own discipline and demonstrate continued professional development.
