Job Description
Our continued expansion within the commercial construction sector has resulted in an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager or Contracts Manager to join AW Construction.
We are a Folkestone based construction company, undertaking a broad range of commercial construction projects across the Southeast of England and London. Our works are predominantly strip out, refurbishment and fit out in nature. Our clients range from universities, shopping centres, light industrial to housing associations, public and private sector clients and many other high profiles names. The successful candidate will be based at our offices in Folkestone, Kent.
Applicants must have significant experience of working as a project manager or contracts manager in the commercial construction sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure projects are delivered safely; on time; on budget, to a high standard from inception to final account stage.
* Oversee the co-ordination of operatives, sub-contractors and suppliers in a planned and controlled manner ensuring efficiency and minimising costs.
* Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to facilitate smooth operations.
* Conduct regular site inspections to assess work quality and adherence to project timelines, adjusting plans as necessary to meet objectives.
* Production of risk assessments and method statements
* Prepare reports on project status, including risks, challenges, and solutions for stakeholders.
* Strong Health & Safety knowledge
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and planners at all levels
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in this role - at least 5 years
* Good time management, with the ability to multitask, plan and organise day-to-day workloads within a busy environment.
* Broad knowledge of construction
* Commercially aware
* Excellent team leader skills and a professional nature
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
* Innovative thinking, with an ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
* Good level of Maths, English and IT
* Full UK Driving Licence
